We will discuss new types of land uses, such as solar farms, event venues on agricultural properties (wineries, micro-distilleries, wedding barns, etc.), short-term rentals such as VRBO and AirBnB, and their zoning treatment and regulation.

It is sometimes very easy for municipal officials and employees to confuse conditional uses and special exceptions and the procedures for addressing both. In this session, Susan will review what you can and cannot do, as well as what you should and should not do, when your township receives requests for conditional uses and special exceptions.

Tom Murphy, Director, Penn State Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research

Many townships are experiencing an increase in permit applications from solar project developers. This session will share insights from research conducted by Penn State about solar projects at the local level while focusing on common elements in solar zoning ordinances and communication strategies for community discussion of solar projects.

This session will get you caught up on all of the recent activity in the Pennsylvania and federal courts that you need to know. We will also discuss new laws and legislative efforts that impact you as a zoning officer.

Refunds for cancelling a webinar at any time will be subject to a $10 processing fee. 
For classes, (in-person and virtual), refunds for a cancellation sent to us between 10 and 2 business days before the class you are registered for will be subject to a $20 processing fee. Those who cancel within two business days of the class you are registered for, or do not attend, forfeit the full registration fee which, if unpaid, will be invoiced.
