NIMS and the Incident Command System - 3/10/20 - Armstrong County

Elected and appointed township officials and employees must have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities in order to develop a successful local emergency management program. To achieve this goal, the Pa. Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) requires all elected municipal officials who have oversight of emergency management to complete the National Incident Management System (FEMA ICS 700) and Incident Command System (FEMA ICS 100)  training classes. PEMA also encourages all other elected officials to take such training in order that they, too, can step in where and as needed during an emergency.

This workshop provides an instructor-led review of the material presented in the federal NIMS ("An Introduction to the National Incident Management System - FEMA ICS-700”) and ICS ("Introduction to Incident Command System - FEMA ICS-100”) classes. Participants who attend this workshop will be better prepared to pass the FEMA ICS-100 and FEMA ICS-700 online exams, which must be done to obtain your official certificate of completion of these PEMA-required classes.

This course is eligible for 2.5 PMGA Public Safety points
