On-Demand Police Use of Force & Local Government Oversight - Virtual Class

During these turbulent times, an assessment of your police department’s use of force policies and internal affairs procedures is recommended for municipal officials responsible for police oversight.

The purpose of this training session is to:

  • familiarize local elected officials and municipal managers with the fundamentals of lawful and excessive use of force as defined by federal and state law;
  • discuss among municipal officials, police chiefs and command staff the fundamentals of effective internal affairs procedures designed to promote law enforcement transparency and accountability;
  • discuss lawful and unlawful public protests under the First Amendment;
  • identify common mistakes made by municipal police policymakers and how to enhance communications by and between those in the chain of command
