Webinar - Understanding Your Township's Emergency Operations Plan - 2/1/23

Includes a Live Web Event on 02/01/2023 at 12:00 PM (EST)

One of the most important matters a township supervisor needs to become familiar with is the status of their Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). The EOP specifies activities to be taken by the township and other community officials to protect the lives and property of citizens in the event of a natural or human-caused emergency or disaster. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Services Code directs and authorizes townships to prepare, maintain, and keep current a disaster EOP for the prevention and minimization of injury and damage of its citizens. This webinar will review the requirements of what needs to be in your EOP and will detail the additional actions your township should take to effectively implement your EOP and keep it current.

The presenter, Robert Goodman, a planning administrator with PEMA, will also review why it is important that your township employees are properly trained to perform their respective roles during any emergency as outlined in the EOP.
